Making a difference
Peter’s Heart, Inc. is a Christian organization dedicated to transforming the lives of the most vulnerable children in Uganda through education and mentorship
Peter’s Heart helps transform the lives of children in the slums of Kampala, Uganda, by enrolling them in schools, ensuring they have necessary healthcare, and providing food and shelter. Our outreach to the mothers/guardians of these children offers mentorship, counseling, and food supplies so they can better support their children in the program.
A rented office serves as a “center,” where children convene on school holidays to receive meals, mentoring, recreation, bonding opportunities with each other, and interaction with mentors and sponsors who visit on mission trips.

Meet Mayi
When Peter’s Heart met Mayimuna (“Mayi”), she was a quiet, school-aged girl unable to attend classes because her single mother struggled to make ends meet. With support from Peter’s Heart, Mayi enrolled in school and received medical care, transforming into a friendly, confident student who thrives both academically and socially. Her mother also found work through the program enabling her to help pay for Mayi’s education and secure safer, more stable housing.
Mayi and her mother are just one example of the positive impact of Peter’s Heart, thanks to generous donors like you.

We seek to transform the lives of at-risk children, families, and their communities in impoverished Ugandan slums.

OUR STORY
Peter’s Heart Inc. began to take root in 2007 when founder, Dr. James Anderson, built Christ-centered friendships with four Ugandan men on the Al Asad Air Base, 100 miles west of Baghdad, Iraq, while serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. Through this shared experience away from home and family, and shared passion to serve God, family, and neighbor, authentic relationships among these five men were forged. From then to now, the story continues to unfold.

"...what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
