Who is Peter?

After five years of using the name ”Seeds of Hope for Uganda” and “Sowing Seeds in Uganda” our Board began searching for a new name that better fit the ministry’s vision for the future. It was during that time that our founder’s identical twin brother, Peter Anderson passed away after a month-long battle with acute leukemia.

Shortly after his passing, in recommending the name “Peter’s Heart” to the rest of the board, board member Corrie Smith said this:

A legacy is how a person is remembered for what they have contributed to the world. Peter’s legacy is one of love for the Lord, love for his family, and service to the world around him, both near and far. Of course, his legacy extends beyond this endeavor in Uganda, but as we serve God there, we can also honor Peter’s memory as we remember the man he was, and the men and women he encouraged us to be.

Peter’s faith permeated every aspect of his life, and as a result, his kindness, generosity, and humility was evident to anyone who interacted with him. When one met Peter, they immediately sensed his warmth, empathy, and wisdom.

As an organization, we strive to embody that love and character as we interact with the people we are privileged to serve in Uganda.
