Loving the Families of our Peter's Heart Children
In Uganda, schools are closed for 1 month from early December to January. It is our goal to help the children stay very connected to their mothers and guardians, so during school break they go back to their homes in the slum.
One of our mentors wrote:
We are so very thankful to God for the people who give towards the food relief ministry. We planned a Peter's Heart Christmas party and invited only children but we got surprised to have around eight mothers come! That was simply because they were hungry and expected to get food! They told us when lunch was served they would keep the food for their children because they have no hope of getting food otherwise. They confessed that Peter's Heart has been like a mother to them.
With pleasure, Peter’s Heart Uganda distributed food items to the needy communities in the Kabalagala and Sembule slums of our catchment area. Forty parents and guardians of children supported by Peter’s Heart were so happy to receive their Christmas package which included 10 kilograms of rice, 5 kilograms of beans, 1.5 kilograms of salt and 1 liter of cooking oil.
It was all joy when they received their Christmas gifts and they thanked Peter’s Heart for the love shown to them.
