School Break
Our Peter’s Heart CEO in Uganda, Geoffrey Seruwu, shared what they are doing for the school break that started in May and will extend through June. We are thankful that they are resourceful and busy, using their time to serve in the community. The picture shows the sponsored children from the 2 catchment areas enjoying a breakfast at the office before the day’s activities begin.
Geoffrey writes:

Every week in this month of May we shall have 2 “Center” days where the PHU team will have an engagement with children at PHU office at Najjanankumbi Kampala District in different activities.
PHU staff are excited to receive a total of 51 children in this period from the Sembule catchment area and the Kikubamutwe catchment area. We are planning one special “Birthday Celebration” on May 24th for those children born between January and April, a time to highlight each child is unique, loved and valued. For many this is a first time for a Birthday celebration.

The 3 brothers, Tony, Joseph, and Geoffrey are excited to go and meet their father and other relatives. They left on Sunday 7th to meet their paternal family in Kyankwanzi District about 151 Kilometers from Kampala. The visit is aimed at strengthening the bond between them and the family which they were reunited with after a separation of 14 years, they are staying there for a week. They are also checking on the banana and cassava gardens they planted in 2022.
Tusingwire Joseph (Jojo) who was reunited with his grandmother in February after separating for 7 years, is in Rukiga district again with his maternal Grandparents until 21st May when he will return for the new school term.
FEEDING PROGRAM
As many families in the slums where PHU is serving are struggling to put food on the table, this holiday at PHU we are organizing a feeding/evangelism program where we will serve cooked food to the children at the same time taking Jesus to the community through evangelism. Local churches will partner with us to get this accomplished and we expect at least 700 people to show up for a nutritious meals and our outreach.
