Shakur Mukhwana, 20 years old, Vocational graduate!

We received this report from Irene about Shakur, who lives in M’Bale.  We are pleased to see that this young man has used the opportunity given by Peter’s Heart for not only his future but to benefit his family!

Irene writes:

 Shakur is a twin and second last born in a family of five. He lives with his elderly and sickly grand-mother in Mbale, 122 miles from Kampala city.

His mother passed on while the father who is still alive is mentally impaired and Shakur and the brother  take care of him.

In 2019, PHU enrolled him on the scholarship program and he joined Bungokho Rural Development School. He worked hard and in 2022, he graduated with a certificate in Brick laying and concrete practice.

Through the PHU exit package for graduates, Shakulu will receive a startup kit with equipment to use in his line of expertise. This will help him have a reliable resource of income thus, improvement in the standard of living not only for himself but the financially struggling family as well.

Shakur is extremely grateful for the aid accorded to him through the PHU scholarship programme . Through hard work and faithfulness, we believe that he will go to great heights in the world of work.
