BACK TO SCHOOL 2022
We are so grateful for your continued love and support. When schools closed down in March 2020 due to COVID-19, your support of Peter’s Heart (PH) enabled the children in our programs to be home schooled. After two years of lockdown in Uganda, schools reopened starting January 10th, 2022.
Schools were opened in a phased manner. Kampala and the surrounding districts had to wait for the rest of the country to open. Also, each class was assigned to a specific day of reporting. The last two weeks have been busy for parents, schools, and the Peter’s Heart Team.
All Peter’s Heart supported children reported back to schools between January 10th and 20th. They were all excited to be back to school. All children were promoted automatically to the next class according to the directive from the Ministry of Education. We thank God for the support from Peter’s Heart enabling the children to continue their studies during this 2 year period. We believe the gap will not be felt.
They all reported to their schools with the requirements needed. This time, every parent or guardian contributed towards their children’s personal needs, apart from one family. They provided items such as soap, toothbrush, washing basin, books, shoes, sandals, bucket, and pocket money. Each contributed according to their ability.
All children in academic studies went to boarding schools except one child who is a day scholar. Going back to school for the kids was like a dream come true. J., who joined lower primary at Christ Care School, at the arrival he said, “Uncle, this is like a movie.” He could not believe he was back to school after two years at home.
For one of our younger kids, everything was new to him, he was joining school for the first time! He loved the place and was eager to be in a class room setting.
C. was so happy to be reunited with her friends.
Thank you all for your sacrificial love.
God bless you,
The Peter’s Heart Team
